Safety Tips for Online Gamers


Ensure your safety while playing online games. Check the safety tips below!
1.       Be careful of people you trust online.
-          No matter how long you chat with your online friend, remember they are always stranger and might not show you their real faces.
-           
2.       Meeting online friend in real life is dangerous.
-          If you want to meet someone you know through social network, remember to inform your parents prior or choose to bring them along and meet at public area on day time for your own safety. You will never know what is going on when meeting up with a stranger.

3.       Stay safe in your chat room.
-          Keep your personal information secure even though people ask for it. Giving out your information simply will make you vulnerable.

4.       Look after each other.
-          Respect your friend and don’t simply give out their information online as it could put them at risk.

5.       Think about your user name or ‘handle’.
-          Use nickname that is not going to attract wrong type of attention but not your real name.

6.       Learn how to block another player.
-          Block people who is behaving badly and annoying you so you don’t hear from them again.
7.       Kick someone out of the game if they are making you uncomfortable.
8.       Disguise your voice by using voice mask if there is voice chat on the game and be careful using voice chat.
-          Make your sound different and remember you are talking to strangers. Keep safe and don’t give your personal information while talking to them about yourself/ your life.
9.       Learn how to report another user.
-          Report people who make you uncomfortable, by harassing you for personal information to the games provider.
10.   Keep a record.

-          Keep a record and key information. It’s easy to explain a problem if you can show it.
